Wine Region: Burgundy - France
Grape: Pinot Noir
Tasting notes: "The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Gruenchers is showing beautifully, soaring from the glass with a perfumed bouquet of sweet berry fruit, cherries, peonies and blood orange. Medium to full-bodied, layered and enveloping, it's round but lively, with supple tannins and a precise, fragrant finish. Felettig opted to use 40% whole cluster this year." -William Kelly, Wine Advocate
About the winery:
Domaine Felettig is one of the names that Burgundy connoisseurs would rather keep to themselves. Gilbert and his sister Christine form the second generation of winegrowers on the estate, after having succeeded from their father and founder of the Domaine, Henri Felettig. Pauline, Gilbert's daughter, has recently joined them. With a history of only 40 years, the Domaine has seen many changes from its very beginning and has expanded rapidly to reach a size of 12.5 hectares, whose 60% rented. Production is small, quality is high, as is the demand, which is why the family's wines are rarely seen outside France.
