Tasting notes: Deep, ruby red in appearance. The wine is generous on the nose with ripe blackberries, dried figs, fine round tannins, fresh acidity and balanced sweetness.
About the winery: In 1999, Jean Battle acquired the estate. He was helped by his grand fathers and motivated by the coming oh his son. Now his son manages the winery. The estate locates in the heart of the Maury Denomination of Origin, on a clay-limestone soil, surrounded by the two Corbieres. Part of our terroir extends under the Cathar castle of Queribus, on black shale soils. This is where the name of Maury comes from the black lands. These shales have the particularity of storing the heat of the Sun and returning it to the berries at night. Thus, our Grenache and Carignan of the locality "Cabirou" reveal an exceptional concentration of sugar.
